WE MISSED LAST week's links completely, for the first time in a very long time, if ever. The site was down for a couple of days due to technical difficulties, and the rest of the time we were having difficulty focusing on work or anything really, while the world was out en force, protesting the gruesome murder of George Floyd two weeks ago. It's difficult to put inspiration out into the world when you're feeling sad and overwhelmed ...
IT’S FINALLY BEGINNING to feel like summer is on the way, and already, there are roses in bloom all around town. With all the bright sunshine comes a feeling of hope, and daydreams of road trips to see castles and visits to quaint village pubs and trips to new places we’ve never been ...
DANIELA HAD ASKED how our weekend was, and I replied that it was actually not too bad considering the state of the world. We had really nice weather on Saturday and spent some time along the river, and at nights when it’s cooler, we always have a cosy fire in the living room.
SPENT MOST of the day Wednesday convalescing on the sofa by the fire, having fallen ill the night before with what is most likely the stomach flu, possibly brought on by food poisoning. It was most unpleasant, but given the current state of things in the world, could have been much, much worse, and for that I am grateful ...
SOMETIMES THE BEST way to see upcoming trends is through a scroll on our Instagram feed. Lately, we've been seeing warm pinks especially in leather jackets, and often paired with buttery yellows and rust. There are also soft, feathery pinks as well as bold magenta, icing sugar shades as at Elie Saab and dusty, eighties shades on the streets of London. Scroll through for our favourite ways to wear this always lovely shade...
WE HAPPENED UPON a lilac-coloured faux leather halter top with matching trousers, and from that moment on, all we could think about were spring things and pretty, pretty pastels. And so, we've gathered up a few of our current favourites, from soft hotel bed linens to rose-coloured wine glasses and more ...
EVEN THOUGH WINTER comes every year, always forget what an ordeal it actually is. How early the days get dark. How overcast and blustery and how much all of this makes me never want to leave the house until spring. It feels like we're on the 174th day of January and there's still February ...
THIS WEEKEND WE watched two films: Knives Out (Rian Johnson, 2019) and Marriage Story (Noah Baumbach, 2019) and both were really good. Knives Out was fast-paced and funny and great fun to try to figure out, while Marriage Story was deeply moving and heartbreaking and made me cry several times.
Bunny Williams' new Manhattan apartment is pure maximalist perfection. Located in the same 1920s French Gothic Revival building that she's lived in for over twenty years. the new space features new arrangements of her old things, and the result could not be more spectacular. Like with all of her work, there are truly exquisite details such as custom mercury glass ...
AFTER FINISHING Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators by Ronan Farrow last week, was a little stressed about choosing the next book to read as that one and most of the ones before were all so good. (This one is a beautiful read, by the way.)
Following the release of her March debut record ‘Miss Universe’, West London’s Nilüfer Yanya has shared a brand new reworking of album cut ‘Heat Rises’. With a different structure, additional production, an entirely new mix, and some numbers in the title because why tf not, ‘H34T RISES’ is the fantastic result.
