READ IN BRITISH Vogue yesterday that Londoners are all in their autumn uniforms already⏤wooly jumpers and jackets and can confirm that we are. That’s because it’s been raining for weeks on end and has been unseasonably chilly. May and June were sunny and hot, but July has been a bit of a washout. Fingers crossed for August! Summery and lovely for the last month would be perfect. I remember the last August we lived in Edinburgh⏤it was cold and stormy the entire month and even hailed a few times. We moved to Spain shortly after. It’s not been all bad, of course. Rainy days are cosy days and I have a million chic jumpers to wear, more so than summer clothes, actually. Windy, rainy days makes quiet corners of pubs romantic and reading on the sofa de rigueur (I’m reading Chomsky and P’s been into Hume and stoicism lately).

We also have some new designs we’re currently working on for Belgrave, but until those are finished, we’re unveiling a new more sustainable business model that we’re really excited about. If you’re on the BC or Shop TIG newsletters, you would have received the announcements by email today. You can also read more about it here. Everything we’ve done for Belgrave so far can be best expressed by the Greek word, meraki, which means “to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put a piece of yourself into what you’re doing.”

This week’s links include a rented flat in Chelsea and an historic palazzo in Lecce turned boutique hotel; a recipe for fishcakes with chilli, ginger, and lime; striped dresses and gold sandals for summer days; and much, much more.
