MY FAVOURITE earrings are these solid gold threaders that dangle prettily and glint in the light when I move. They were my lucky earrings because I’ve nearly lost them a million times, but they always turned up again, often in the most inexplicable places. This weekend, my luck ran out and one of them appears to be lost forever, most likely at the train station or on the streets of London. It was a sad moment to think their time had gone, although a part of me still hopes that it will turn up somewhere… On Sunday, we took our laptops and tablets and headed to a pub in Teddington to write. P was prolific and flushed out ideas for five or six new articles, while I, on the other hand, was still working on the same article that had already taken me a week. When we got home that night, I promptly lost everything to a technical difficulty with the site and failed to make any backups, so it’s back to the drawing board. It’s been a weekend of loss, really. But there was cheesecake, so all’s well that’s ends well.

This week’s links include a Georgian mansion, and stunning paper sculptures by Anna-Wili Highfield; striped sweaters for seaside days;  Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg’s summers in Saint-Tropez, and much, much more.
