It’s nearly the end of August, and we’re already lamenting these last beautiful, summery days, although here in Spain, it...
WE FEATURED interior designer Sarah Bartholomew‘s Nashville home in late August of this year. More photos of her home were added...
THERE IS A SPANISH BOOKSTORE that we love to visit that has all the best magazines. It was here, the other day, that had come across the latest issue of Elle Decoration España with the new home of couturier Jorge Vázquez on the cover. Of course, as an unabashed maximalist, it was love at first site. Beaverbrook Hotel is a late-nineteenth-century mansion set in the Surrey Hills, the quintessential British Country Estate. Decorator Susie Atkinson was tasked with designing something essentially British and romantic, "current but not trendy, comfortable and completely individual" (House & Garden). Already a week back home from holidays and buried in work and I am almost forgetting again how wonderful life is when you travel and you have adventures and discover new places.

FOR THE SECOND YEAR in a row, Giambattista Valli did not stage an haute couture show, opting instead for an exhibition of his spring collection, open to the public. “Sometimes the fashion world is too exclusive and sometimes it’s nice to be inclusive,” the designer told Vogue. An open presentation was held at the National Gallery de Jeux Pom in Paris.
I have seen people preoccupied lately with all kind of topics―finances, careers, relationships―and I realize how easy it is these days to fall into a whirlwind of negative thoughts. But in order to remain positive and keep the good thoughts flowing, you have to fill your time with beautiful things: with art, books, music and inspiring stories.
I USED TO joke with P that This Is Glamorous began as the musings of a girl in her underwear. While that may not be strictly true (sometimes I wore track pants), the casual work-from-home attire did not mean that I did not get things done.
