It’s that skull and crossbones time of year again and what could be more fun than wearing posh, brightly-coloured skulls?...
ON FRIDAY, March 31, 2022, French fashion & portrait photographer Patrick Demarchelier passed away in St. Barths of cancer. He was 78. Patrick Demarchelier was born in 1943 in Le Havre, a major port in northern France's Normandy region. As the story goes, he got his start in photography when his stepfather gave him his first Kodak camera on his 17th birthday. He became enchanted with photography, taking pictures of friends and weddings and learning how to retouch negatives and develop film
SINCE WE’RE CURRENTLY featuring Karl Lagerfeld in our NEW SERIES, You Are What You Consume, we thought we might revisit this rather epic editorial the cultural icon shot for Harper’s Bazaar nearly ten years ago.
The Dior Bobby is everywhere. The new Dior icon bag is called Bobby, after Monsieur Dior’s beloved canine companion, and the design is very classic and curated, with its clean lines and strict colour palette of black, cream, camel and blue Dior Oblique canvas.
I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. -Maya Angelou

IT IS A LONG WEEKEND here in Spain, as it is in Canada and some parts of the US. Here, there were fireworks last night and parades and marching bands this afternoon. As for us, well we had the most perfectly leisurely and lovely morning, coffee and autumn sunlight and the streets below all quiet. We’re in planning mode this week, for Friday’s early morning flight, as well as a few last-minute deadlines. This autumn has been one of reconnecting with old friends and acquaintances, a little taking stock of where we’ve been and where we’re going. DJ Khaled might not actually do anything, but whatever he’s doing, or not, it’s working. He’s still the best famous-person-wrangler around, and he’s managed to round up a truly absurd posse of superstars on his upcoming album Grateful. You’ve already heard the #1 Justin Bieber/Quavo/Chance The Rapper/Lil Wayne team-up “I’m The One” everywhere on the radio, and you’ve probably already heard the Drake collab “To The Max” and the post-Grammys Beyoncé/Jay Z duet “Shining” too. Now, Khaled is sharing “Wild Thoughts,” which features Rihanna and Bryson Tiller and samples Santana’s “Maria Maria” guitar riff.”
