The other day while searching for a place to have tea, we stumbled upon a beautiful hotel situated a few steps away from the beautiful Opera de Paris, the Palais Garnier: l’InterContinental Paris le Grand. Also called l’hôtel des voyageurs, l’InterContinental Paris le Grand was originally built for the Exposition Universelle of 1867. The building has long welcomed intellectuals and travelers from around the world, which famously include Victor Hugo, Emile Zola and Oscar Wilde.
Back when I was home in Brasov, December used to always be magical: long walks in the freezing snowy white forest, skating with friends and weekends at the cabin. I miss quite a bit, that Christmasy-Winter feeling. This year, the streets around Paris have been getting festive since mid-November and I was pretty excited about it, but unfortunately Paris's famous Marché de Noël it won't be held this year.
This year my holiday structure is changing: fewer plans, no schedules, no compromises. While everyone else is planning their big Christmas dinner, this year I am headed towards making my own traditions, including a small dinner with friends and some more time for myself and my readings.
Some bien-être moments would definitely make the difference for the rest of this long month of January. While dreaming of warmed bed, heated towels, massages, infusions and masks, here are some photos of this dreamy place of green velvet divans and floral wallpaper ...
Last weekend was white and christmassy, and my city break back home in Brasov was filled with lots of hugs, love and laughs. Currently back to work, but I wanted to share with you a beautiful place from my region, the utterly romantic Transylvania, and more specifically, the Peles Castle.
