January always feels like the longest month of the year. It feels like ages ago we celebrated new resolutions and new beginnings and already I may have failed to keep up with the days without sugar, or with ‘Dynamo’ the Parisian version of Soul Cycle. Most days were rainy and we saw the sun for just a couple of days, but we had a few spectacular sunsets and even a day and a half of snow. Coming to the end of this endless month, here are some wonderful things that happened...
Between new year's resolutions, new projects and new goals, wanted to share some photos from what is considered one of the most influential buildings in the world, situated in Piambino Dese, a town of 9,000 habitants, 19 miles northwest of Venice.
We live in a world so addicted to speed and noise, I realize every day that everything we do is in such a hurry. At work I observe clients always in a hurry. On the streets (with the exception of the Rive Gauche side of Paris where time seems to stand still) there is a rythme frenetique, as the locals say.
Despite being a new beginning of the year, filled with so much hope and so many new ideas, rarely does the month of January bring only joy. January—it’s the month of sales, people are tired of shopping and of queues, of agglomeration, of the grey days. Keeping a good mood may be a challenge.
Maybe this year there were more lows than highs, or maybe all of your resolutions weren’t accomplished, maybe some projects haven’t seen the light of day, or perhaps everything was just perfect. The most important thing is that we are all trying and that we are not giving up.
They talk in every article about capturing French style or Parisian allure, French beauty, and that certain je ne sais quoi. Well the secret about come to light now: there is no magic formula, it’s all about personal style. A few years ago, at the Chanel Beauty Boutique on rue des Francs-Bourgeois, I heard the first time about Sabina, a Romanian girl, as I, but the most French & stylish of all girls...
The last few days I have been watching the beauty of fall from my cosy rustic cabin back in my home town. Being back in Paris now, my mind keeps drifting to the emerald lake we visited and the colourful forests I have seen during the time I’ve spent there. Here there is no crackling fire, but certainly these two places are a perfect choice for a cosy lunch or dinner with some incredible Parisian views between the working days ...
May this year be a softer journey. May we survive through art, friends and all the beautiful things around us. I hope to take more care of myself this year, to have more healthy habits, to take care of my skin, to sleep the necessary hours, to take care of my thoughts and my feelings.
While we’re getting ready for a festive month, in some cities the first snowfall has already been celebrated, and morning coffee is being taken more and more often under the covers, even though I just discovered a pretty café in my neighbourhood.
I first introduced Private Choice in October of last year (you can read more about it here). I recently attended the 6th edition of the event, where Nadia Candet had once again asserted her curatorial taste on the Haussmannien apartment where the event is held with a selection of contemporary artists and designers, a wide variety of artwork, furniture and design objects that come together as a unified whole. This year’s theme is highlighting the Current Trends. The great mise en scene is not only an exhibition event but also a private sale event.
