Notes from the Weekend & this Week’s Links 20.05.24

SOMEHOW, SUMMERTIME casts an enchanting spell. Even when trying to focus on work, the beckoning sunshine streaming through wide-open windows makes my gaze wander and the languid rhythms of summer days slows everything down. Drenched in warmth and azure skies, I’ll find myself captivated, abruptly abandoning all responsibilities for a leisurely stroll. It’s a wonder anything ever gets accomplished on these summer days. This weekend, I tried a new carrot cake recipe to use up the leftover carrots in the fridge, along with a simple frosting made of butter, cream cheese, and honey. We’ve been enjoying P’s flame-baked flatbread tacos, loaded with steamed cauliflower, various delicious toppings, and, of course, chili crisp. Last week’s newsletter featured the second instalment of Life Update, filled with recent photos and musings from the past little while, including a favorite photo from last summer. Do you know what I think the best part of summer is? Routines are no longer routines but plans made to be broken…

This week’s links include the fascinating food trends influencing how Brits are eating in 2024, and linen mini dresses for summer days; a look a how collagen affects your skin and joints, everyday foods for gut health, and much, much more.
