THIS WEEKEND we made it out to the riverside pub that is our favourite summertime place. Saturday was a warm spring-like day, so we were able to sit outside, although not for long, as it began to cool down around 4:00 pm. Before the pub, we stopped in at a patisserie that’s well-known in the area and picked up a delicious strawberry custard tart and a slice of something with pecans on top. Everything was boxed and beribboned in the place’s signature way and it felt special carrying our little desserts around. It’s a quaint little area, this tiny enclave where the pub is located, the most friendly place in the world, I always say to P, and we can’t wait until the tables along the dock are back when the weather is warmer. The trees have already begun to blossom, much earlier here in the south than in the English countryside and there are so many things to look forward to. Soon we’ll be launching a few new products at The Shop that we’ve never carried before. It’s going to be exciting and we can’t wait to tell you more about it. The sixth instalment of Listening, Reading, Thinking, Shopping went out on Thursday of last week and it’s filled with great finds and musings. This week, we may be sending out two dispatches, rather than one, and also have some thought-provoking articles that we’re currently working on. Hope your week is off to a wonderful start.
