THIS INSTALMENT of 10 IMAGES features the work of Marco Valmarana. Born in Venice, Italy, Valmarana got his start working for Belmond as a lifeguard at Hotel Cipriani. After his studies, he took a different path, working in photography and social media. Years later, Valmarana would return to Belmond, working in content creation and art direction for the brand’s hotels in Southern Europe. We chose his images because they are perfect for this time of year: bright skies and saturated colours reminiscent of Slim Aarons. There is also a hazy summer vibe to Valmarana’s work, something we’re in need of at the moment, after all these weeks of overcast and dreary winter skies. The photographer’s work is also set to appear in ‘Dolce Vita’, an upcoming book by Assouline.
