Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 23.05.22

WE’RE TRYING out one of those food services that deliver a huge box of fresh ingredients to your home⏤enough to make five different meals from scratch, all packaged in separate numbered paper bags with recipe cards for each. It arrived on Saturday and the first meal we (actually just P) made was Cauliflower Mac and Cheese with Blue Cheese Crumb and Sriracha Drizzle. It was actually really good. P said that even though it’s supposed to make things easier, you have to know something about cooking, as there was a lot going on at the same time, so I guess it was better that he was doing it and not me. Tonight we’re trying the Pesto Crusted Sea Bass. We also began repainting the living room this weekend, which ended up being disruptive and chaotic, as we had to move computers and bookcases filled with heavy coffee table books and every issue of Martha Stewart Living ever published. It is also only half finished, as I ordered one can of paint, intending to only do an accent wall, but midway through, decided to do the entire room. It is the loveliest, softest shade of yellow pink that looks like the kind of colour you would find on the walls of a Georgian mansion in Cornwall. We’re anxiously waiting for the second can to arrive so that we can put the living room back together again. I am also ordering one more piece of art to complete the gallery wall from a new place I discovered a few weeks ago. It’s going to look perfect against the pink.

This week’s links include an 18-century farmhouse and a wool mill in Wales; satin blazers for summer days, wooden clogs and much, much more.
