Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links

Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 13.12.21

YOU MAY HAVE noticed that aside from last week’s Links and one set of articles on Monday, there were no new posts this past week. We spent the entire week in London, taking time off from everything and it was wonderful. We ate Italian food in Marylebone and discovered a wine club housed in bare-brick vaults and lit by candlelight. We saw Christmas trees and skating rinks and found cosy corners in quiet pubs in Mayfair. Although we’d been expecting rain, the weather ended up being bright and sunny and we were able to bicycle through Hyde Park, past The Serpentine with its white swans and afternoon people in their puffy coats and woolly hats. Here in the countryside, there are fairy lights on the shops in the village and there’s a festive feeling in the air, despite the fact that perhaps it may be another lockdown holiday. There will still be good food, cosy fires, and time with those closest to us.

This week’s links include a fisherman’s cottage in St Ives and down puffer jackets with slouchy boots; high-slit dresses for holiday soirées and much, much more.
