ON FRIDAY NIGHT enormous fluffy snowflakes fell furiously here in the countryside, covering everything in a mesmerising blanket of wet snow. You may have watched it falling on our Instagram Stories, for we knew we had to capture it as it would not last. Within an hour or so, the rain fell, and by morning, it was gone, but for a little while, things felt rather festive ...
THERE HAVE BEEN a few great trends for spring-summer 2021 so far—waistcoats, shrunken cardigans, Breton stripes and billowy summer dresses—just to name a few, but here are OUR VERY FAVOURITES: from the return of the silk satin midi skirt to the crisp and classic blue shirt (with or without stripes); preppy coordinated sweater sets and tiny tennis skirts; oversized trench coats and pretty silk scarves..
His relationship with social media is a striking manifestation of the worries expressed by the French philosopher Guy Debord, in his classic work The Society of the Spectacle (1967). Social life is shifting from ‘having to appearing – all “having” must now derive its immediate prestige and its ultimate purpose from appearances,’ he claims. ‘At the same time all individual reality has become social.’

First, let’s survey the situation. It’s as though the haze of our inner lives were being filtered through a screen of therapy work sheets. If we are especially online, or roaming the worlds of friendship, wellness, activism, or romance, we must consider when we are centering ourselves or setting boundaries, sitting with our discomfort or being present.
Throughout the eighties and nineties, even as he helped with the HeartMate and AbioCor, Frazier argued that engineers should shift from pulsatile pump designs to ones based on the more mechanically straightforward principle of “continuous flow”—the strategy that Bivacor later adopted. Some researchers argued that the circulatory system might benefit from the pulse; there’s evidence that blood-vessel walls expand in response to a quickening beat ...

Over the course of the past year, our social media streams began to change. The endless photos of trips to far-flung places like Japan and Australia, and influencer favourites like Bali and Santorini slowly gave way to quarantine home scenes. Quiet lockdown moments of living room cocktails and freshly baked loaves of Dutch oven bread, solitary sofa scenes of open laptops and Netflix streams ...
This article started from an imaginary situation, in which I was wondering if I were to choose just French brands for clothing, what pieces I would buy and from what brands?

Every Thursday, I went to the Alliance Française to « Soirée Cinema » in my hometown—what a feast for the eyes and the soul.
These past few days I walked into the November sunset, into a marvelous light that bewitches, for Paris has a certain energy, an energy that feels like being plugged in to electricity. Here, you don’t have to go to a special place to find beauty. Look around wherever you are and you will see it: the parcs; the libraries and museums—but mostly on the streets.
With performances racked up beside Grimes, The xx and Battles, GIUNGLA’s (aka Ema Drei) propulsive modus operandi sports an all-encompassing gloss. It’s bolstered on her recent singles by the production acumen of Luke Smith, known for his work with Foals and Depeche Mode, amongst others.
