Hinds’ sophomore album I Don’t Run arrived just under two years ago. The Madrid quartet has moved at a pretty steady clip since they first popped up in the middle of the ’10s, and the release of “Riding Solo” in December hinted we might be on the cusp of another Hinds album.
WHILE WE MAY not be the biggest fans of Kanye and Kim Kardashian West, we are very much longtime fans of Axel Vervoordt. In fact, we once wrote a piece about how the Belgian designer and the musician met (How Kanye West met Axel Vervoordt, This Is Glamorous, April 26, 2018) ...
The muffled screams escaped through the narrowly cracked window and into the frigid winter afternoon air. That’s what drew attention to the blue pickup truck, otherwise inconspicuous in the grocery store’s side lot.
THERE IS A STORM on the way, very high winds, rain, and perhaps even snow tomorrow. At the moment, though, it is still up swirling about up north in Northern Ireland and Scotland and making its way down. Here, it feels as if we've been hibernating since the start of the new year, venturing out over the weekend only for a quick drink in the cosy pub ...
Today was one of those quintessentially gloomy English autumn days that remind you that winter is on its way. Being forever in love with summertime, it can be difficult with the cold and dark, and so, to look on the bright side, we're drawing inspiration from the palette of overcast days.
Beck has released a new song, “Everlasting Nothing,” from his upcoming album Hyperspace. It’s the fifth single from the project, following “Saw Lightning,” “Hyperlife,” “Uneventful Days,” and “Dark Places,” all of which were written in collaboration with Pharrell.
THE TEMPERATURE has dropped drastically from yesterday, and it's all lambswool and huge puffy coats at the moment. But before that, when autumn was just slowly fading in from summertime, I began collecting images, an inspiration board of sorts, of all the beautiful ways I would employ the art of autumn layering...
DON'T KNOW HOW I missed Clare Waight Keller’s Paris apartment when it was featured in The Wall Street Journal in March of 2016, but so happy I came upon it now in their archives. At the time, Waight Keller was still the Creative Director at Chloé and living in Paris...
EARLY OCTOBER and no one seems to be able to let go of whites just yet, pairing creamy silk slip skirts with cosy ecru turtlenecks or balloon sleeve maxi dresses with tall leather boots. Whether boiler suits or blazers, pleated dresses or cropped denim, autumn comes in shades of white...

The minimal straight lines and sharp edges of modern interior design are giving way to curves, rounded corners, softer forms and sensual, sculptural shapes. Curvy and voluptuous furniture designs and proportions are back in style and ushering softer, more playful, even chubby shapes...
ONE LOOK THROUGH our Décor Archives and you will notice immediately that there are very few contemporary interiors and a thorough fondness for maximalism. We've always favoured traditional or new traditional styles to anything modern, being drawn instead, to ornamentation―gilded mirrors and chandeliers, toile and boiserie and crown canopies. The closest we've ever ventured to the modern or minimal is ornate austerity.
THIS WEEKEND WE celebrated something special and also tried to absorb as much of the last golden days of summer as possible. For this first September week, we're back and forth to Edinburgh for business and to sort a few things out. We've also finally installed some bookcases to the left of the fireplace in the living room and have begun moving the boxes (and boxes) of books and magazines from the storage unit to the cottage. The floor is currently strewn with paperbacks, oversized coffee table books and glossy back issues of favourite magazines in a pile of nostalgia and happy chaos. Everything that we've been working for in the past few months has lead to tomorrow and we're relieved, excited and exhausted all at once...
IT SEEMS LIKE OVERNIGHT the mornings have begun to get crisper and now, in mid-August, autumn seems to be slowly, nearly imperceptibly, inching its way into the nights. It's a bittersweet time, for summer's end is always something to lament, but change is good, and we do love new beginnings every once in a while.
