IF THERE EVER were a place made of Instagram dreams, this is the place. While We Were Young Kitchen & Cocktails on West 10th Street, NYC's pink tufted velvet banquettes and marble tables and countertops, not to mention their menu of 'Healthy Contemporary American Cuisine' is like a siren song for tourists and locals alike. Mains include dishes such as Avocado Toast ($18), Wild Salmon ($28), Chicken & Waffles ($25), Main Lobster ($31), and adventurous cocktails such as The Morning After (Jasmine-Infused Bourbon, Aperol, Cinnamon, Lemon), and Too Good For You (Tequila, Kale, Lime, Agave, Cucumber) are on offer. Set off against the pink velvet is a dusky blue bar with blue and gold stools for sitting at the counter. Quotes by Walt Witman adorn the walls. Scroll through for a glimpse...
WHEN IT COMES TO décor, I would describe myself as a Romantic Traditionalist, perhaps even an Haute Bohemian, and a definite Maximalist. Anything modern or industrial rarely strikes my fancy, and that's why it's rather strange that I am so drawn to industrial inspired powder rooms lately. The look involves large exposed pipes and stands beneath sinks, (something I've never been fond of, as vanities provide so much more storage), and yet, when the exposed plumbing is made of golden brass, there is a sudden romance to it. The look only works, of course, when paired with the very traditional (and rather glamorous) elements of marble (preferably heavily veined) and more golden accents, such as mirrors and light fixtures, as well as brass faucets and taps. White is the preferred backdrop, in either paint or tile, although some have been known to use wallpaper or even more marble to great effect. Scroll through for a glimpse ...
T MAGAZINE FEATURED Jenna Lyons‘ new Soho loft yesterday, sending décor enthusiasts’ hearts aflutter. No longer with J.Crew after 27 years (ten of those years as creative director and eight as president), Lyons has been taking some time off in her newly redesigned apartment, a 3,500-square-foot loft on the fourth floor of a 19th-century cast-iron building in SoHo
ONE OF THE THINGS we’re most often asked about is where we find inspiration, and the answer is never a simple one, for inspiration is everywhere. It’s at the art gallery on a Tuesday morning, just after coffee; it’s in a holiday shop window ...
Showcasing star quality can take years for a new artist, but Los Angeles-based artist Billie Eilish is a natural. She’s only 15 years old, but she’s had an insane 2017 and songs/videos like “Bellyache” and “Ocean Eyes” have racked up tens of millions of plays. Billie’s been selling out shows around the world, winning over fans and media outlets alike, and she’s on her way to becoming a household name. Today she keeps things moving with a new release, the slow-burning “Bitches Broken Hearts.”
Multi-disciplinary design studio Alexander & Co. transformed this existing waterfront holiday villa in Palm Beach, Sydney into a stunning bespoke 5-bedroom coastal home, Iluka House.
THIS WAS A WEEKEND of highs and lows, the highs being cava and oysters on a Monday night and the lows being all of the things coming through the news lately: Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, the Independence Referendum, Tom Petty... we're still working through all of the sad news and finding ways to help, while still trying to remember the beauty in life as well. On Sunday night, P picked up tickets to a show by a Scottish singer-songwriter that he's a fan of and had wanted to see back in Scotland but we weren't able to make it; amazingly, the artist was just wrapping up a Spanish tour, finishing his last night here in the city.
