THE FIRST THING that caught my eye in this charming Swedish kitchen was the glass-front cabinets, which reminded me of those old barrister bookcases sometimes repurposed in décor for storing/displaying shoes. The kitchen belongs to two Berliners, Laura Muthesius, a food stylist, and Nora Eisermann, a photographer, who always dreamed of owning a home in Sweden.
WHEN PETER COPPING stepped down as creative director at Oscar de la Renta four years ago, he began spending more time at La Carlière, the 15th-century manor house he and his French husband Rambert Rigaud bought 12 years ago. Located in the Normandy countryside just two hours from Paris, the home was once a weekend escape from the city ...
THINGS HAVE BEEN a bit stressful lately―our site is full of holes at the moment where images should be (long story); I am currently locked out of the TIG facebook account (Does anyone have a fix for this?); and the pandemic is taking hold again...
THE NEWS HAS been dire lately and as always during stressful times, it can sometimes be difficult to be creative and come up with interesting things to share. This space, a pavilion that's set off from the main house on this South Australian property, is modern and minimalist and very calming with its Tuscan-inspired fluid shapes and neutral palette ...
WE'VE COVERED the work of Leanne Ford before here at TIG, but this project, with its fieldstone fireplace and log cabin vibe, has drawn our attention to the American interior designer once again. Set in Rustic Canyon, a residential neighbourhood and canyon in eastern Pacific Palisades on the west side of Los Angeles, California ...
HAPPENED UPON THIS wonderfully elegant home in Lattingtown, New York by Ferguson & Shamamian Architects while searching for fitness studio décor for an upcoming project. I, of course, immediately fell for its decidedly elegant vibe of chintz and chandeliers and Venetian glass mirrors, balloon curtains and sweeping staircase, wall sconces and walk-in dressing rooms.
THIS WEEKEND WAS a whirl of films and books and music, all set to the backdrop of a roaring fire, the cottage cosy while outside, leaves fell. We've been talking a lot about everything that has been going on in the world and it can be a bit overwhelming to think about it all, but right now ...
Russian-born, raised in Germany influencer Xenia Adonts moved to Paris recently and has been slowly releasing small glimpses of her new apartment on her Instagram account @xeniaadonts. And while the space the classically good bones of a Paris apartment with its juliet balconies and chevron wood floors ...
THIS WEEK’S Blogger Style features the utterly charming Instagram photos of Lovisa Barkman (@lovisabarkman). Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Barkman's life in pictures includes chunky knits on a sandy beach and a tiny puppy in a wicker handbag ...
This beautiful interior space, called Aurora Residence, is a collaboration between Koolasuchus (@koola.suchus), an Australia based interior architecture and design firm, and Photonic (@studio.photonic) an Australian based studio specialising in marketing 3D imagery, architectural concept and spatial design.
WE'VE FEATURED Aerin Lauder's classic, old-world, European-infused style here at TIG before, so when House & Garden recently published a few photos of the East Hampton home that she inherited from her grandmother Estée Lauder, we had to share them with you ...
The Notting Hill home of creative consultant and designer Matilda Goad, at first glance, falls neatly into the English countryside aesthetic we’ve all fallen for lately. Upon closer examination, however, the space definitely has its own modern spin ...
IT WAS ONLY A MATTER of time before we happened upon Julia Amory's Hamptons home in all its chintz-y splendour. Amory, her husband and their daughter split their time between New York City and the Hamptons, and it is this, their summer home, that we are in love with. Decidedly grandmillennial in style, it's a little new traditional with a healthy dose of grandma chic thrown in for good measure.
Carlos Garcia Interiors was started twelve years ago by Carlos Sánchez-García to exhibit his passion for architecture, furniture design, textiles and antiques. His quintessentially English manor farmhouse in North Norfolk that he shares with his husband and two whippets is another one of our recent Instagram finds and another example of our enduring love for countryside and farmhouse style ...
IT IS THE HEIGHT of summer and we can't seem to resist bright, luscious colours lately―rich floral wallcoverings and dusky lilac bamboo chairs; a pink satin robe for late Sunday mornings ...
