WE’VE FEATUREDAerin Lauder‘s classic, old-world, European-infused style here at TIG before, so when House & Garden recently published a few photos of the East Hampton home that she inherited from her grandmother Estée Lauder, we had to share them with you. The images are from the pages of the new book, Summer to Summer, by Jennifer Ash Rudick, and provide a wonderful glimpse of Estée’s taste, which include the blue and white scheme and interiors created by decorator Mark Hampton, who also designed her New York and Palm Beach houses.
After living in the Wainscott 1930s Greek Revival house for a while, Aerin and her husband, Eric Zinterhofer, built an addition, creating an eat-in kitchen and family room on the first floor with a master suite and additional guest bedrooms above. Interior designer Daniel Romualdez was called upon to adapt Estée’s original interiors to a more contemporary lifestyle. Scroll through for a look…

“The original décor of Estée Lauder’s bedroom by Mark Hampton has stood the test of time. The walls, curtains, and upholstery are a Pierre Frey fabric.” –House & Garden
