THIS WEEK'S At Home With features the Brooklyn home of Somin Yoo (@sominyoo), a designer and ceramicist who lives in the cozy residential Boerum Hill neighbourhood located in the northwestern part of the city. Not only is it a relaxed, homey tree-lined area of brownstones and townhouses, but Yoo's home is every bit as chic a space as you might imagine someone with a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art from Yale might live.
Today’s Interior Redux features not one, but two homes of one of the greatest couturiers of the 20th century, Hubert de Givenchy. The designer owned three homes in France, and early last year, we looked at the designer’s country estate — Le Jonchet (see it here), where he permanently resides today, at the age of 89.
My day at Versailles was one of the prettiest days of my life. I personally went in knowing I would experience over-the top opulence, but I had no idea how beautiful the grounds of the palace were. I spent hours wandering alone through the forest and fields, sitting in the grass and reading, just like in the Sofia Coppola edition of Marie Antoinette. It was a dream.
WE RECENTLY discovered London-based interior design firm Salvesen Graham on Instagram, and immediately fell for their quintessentially British style. Founded by Mary Graham and Nicole Salvesen in 2013, the duo focuses on creating Future Heritage interiors with a sensitivity to historical and traditional interior schemes.
