THERE ARE SOME decades that we don't really know much about⏤the 40s for instance⏤we know nothing about the music from that time, or even the films. We recently saw To Catch A Thief, Alfred Hitchcock's 1955 film starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant, so we're beginning to become vaguely familiar with that decade, but the 70s, that's one timeframe that has never appealed to us aesthetically, especially after watching the A&E documentary about Hugh Hefner recently ...
OUT OF ALL THE RECENT trends we've seen lately, from silk to (white) pantsuits to silk scarves, our favourite would have to be the chain belt. Appearing as early as 1922, the chain belt is most associated with the 1990's, when it was made popular by Chanel. And since the 90's themselves are having a moment, it's no surprise that this trend has made a resurgence. Whether made of medallions or coins, interlocking circles, pearls, flowers and even starfish, chain belts are a chic way to finish off any outfit, from jumpers to blue jeans and everything in between... (including swimsuits).
EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, there is a mini trend that comes along that is just too pretty to pass up, and the rhinestone/crystal belt with blue jeans is one of them.
