ON THURSDAY we met up with an old friend who we hadn’t seen in over ten years. He was in London for only two days and thought we might meet for a pint and catch up. We choose that little pub in Belgravia that I told you about before. It was so good to see him again and we had such a nice time over mid-afternoon drinks and realised later that we should have ordered lunch. After we said our good-byes, we’d planned to make it over to Primrose Hill to check out the new bagel place that opened recently, but never made it. Have you noticed how the days seem to be getting shorter and shorter at what seems like an impossible speed? September sunsets are beautiful though, with their stunningly pink skies that are both wonderful and wistful at the same time. I’m already wearing wool jumpers every morning, and trying to embrace the changing seasons despite my deep love of summertime. There is solace in the fact, of course, that my favourite Burberry trench and quilted Barbour are waiting patiently to make their autumn debuts. Autumn outfits are infinitely easier to put together than summer ones, I think. On Sunday, a new edition to the TIG Substack was released to our subscribers. You can read it here. Also reconnected with an old friend by email who I hadn’t spoken with for 7 years. Guess am on some sort of nostalgia tour. I blame the changing seasons.
This week’s links include a minimalist art deco Paris apartment; Mary Janes and Maritime Tweed for autumn days; 6 Stylish Places to Stay in Comporta, Portugal, and much, much more.
