Notes from the Weekend

YES, IT’S STILL the weekend here, so to speak, as today is a holiday, but we thought we’d still bring you the Weekend Links as usual, since you might be around and looking for something to read while you’re home or at a café or pub somewhere. Saturday was a beautifully sunny, proper spring day, and we spent it outside, after picking up some oat milk iced coffee and a handmade Biscoff milk chocolate bar at the local truffle shop that had run out of truffles. The magnolias are out, the cherry blossoms, and daffodils. Everywhere, there’s colour and signs of spring and it’s wonderful. So much so, that I’ve already been debating weather or not to pack the winter coats away and put away the electric blanket. P recently got a LinkedIn message from someone he used to know in another city, another country, another lifetime. He and his wife and two children will be in London in July and would we be able to meet up with them? It’s always strange when these meetings with the past come up and you’re not really sure what to do. On the one hand, they most likely already know what we’ve been up to all this time, and we know about them, since the internet has no secrets. But when you do meet, you pretend you know nothing. It’s a strange game we all play.
