AT THIS MOMENT, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp are all down and have been for a few hours now. It’s such a big deal that it made the six o’clock news. I deleted WhatsApp a long time ago, when Facebook changed the privacy rules, but we do use FB for TIG and Instagram as well, although to a much lesser extent in the past few weeks. It feels strangely peaceful without them and it’s made me wonder what life would be like if all three of them just vanished forever… P, on the other hand, does not need to wonder, for he lives in the strange parallel universe of someone who has no social media accounts whatsoever and seems rather well-adjusted. The sun is setting earlier every day now and this weekend, while out walking in the countryside, an orange leaf flung itself across my path. Coffee in the mornings seem cosier and sometimes the windows are foggy on especially crisp mornings and I am looking forward to watching all the autumn colours play out on these October nights.
This week’s links include oversized linen blazers for the office and what the world’s most creative people have in common; mindlessness versus mindfulness and much, much more.
