AT THE TIME of writing, Lockdown 3.0 has been announced in England for the foreseeable future, signalling an abrupt end to the holiday season that lasted a little longer than past years, simply because the new year fell on a Friday morning. We decided that we might as well begin work again today rather than on the first of January as other years, which means that not only will the next few weeks be in quarantine, but for us, it’s also back to workouts three times a week, daily cardio sessions on the exercise bike, eating better again, and no alcohol for the remainder of the month. Add to that the short, dark, overcast January days and it could all be a rather depressing scene if not for the fact that it’s nice to be back at the (home) office and that we also have some new projects to look forward to. Have also dealt with this third lockdown by ordering a new sofa, seeing as it looks like we’ll be home again a lot this year, which so far has not felt like a new year at all, but a continuation of craziness that 2020. Near the end of the last year, we received so many notes and messages from you thanking us for continuing to send beauty out into the world, and about how we were a welcome escape for many of you that helped through some difficult times. It wasn’t only really touching to hear, but it was especially so because it has not always been easy for us to keep going, to keep on being positive and to keep on sending our energy out into the world when at times we were very worn down by the relentless news cycles, worries about becoming ill, and the general state of things. But it’s a new year now, and fresh starts always have a way of bringing new hope and a sense of anticipation for all the dreams we still have to accomplish, and all the lives we have yet to live…
