IT WAS THE PHOTO, above, of the Calacatta Monet marble counter and the antique lamp with wicker shade that stopped me in my tracks while scrolling through Instagram this morning. I discovered this beautiful room was in the Hamptons home of Athena Calderone, the blogger behind Eyeswoon. We featured her Greek Revival townhouse in the Cobble Hill Historic District of Brooklyn here in October 2018 and loved seeing the difference between that space and the designer’s beach house in Amagansett, New York. This space, with its focus on textures and materials, is decidedly much more relaxed, and well, beachy, and yet there’s an intense elegance about the space due to the richly veined marble, which intermingles with the more natural elements of wicker, bamboo armchairs, rustic wood floating shelves, burled wood, seagrass, linen, and rope…
