I’ve been keeping an eye on the next big trends presented in the past few weeks in this long Fashion Month and there is one that is capturing everyone’s imaginations out there: the oversized collar.

Claudine collars, Victorian ones, disco collars, they are all versatile and super easy to style. You can choose a black sweater and leather pants like Pernille Teisbaek, or over a tweed jacket like Leia Sfez, or simply over a black shirt like Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The trend has been mise en place thanks to the Copenhagen brand Ganni, where the collar shirts have been spotted on many big influencers, but also by Chanel’s Haute Couture S/S 20 show—making a major statement over their signature tweed jackets.

Here is a small selection of the trend on the street style, runways and everyday life.
