Year: 2018
EVERY SO OFTEN, and especially in between the changing of the seasons, we take stalk of what's been having in fashion for the past few months to get a sense of what's to come in the next few months, gathering our favourite style inspiration looks along the way.
Barrie are a new five-piece band based out of Brooklyn, and they’ve just released their debut single, “Canyons,” which is the kind of groovy, dreamy haze that’s easy to fall for.
JUST IN FRONT of the Centre Pompidou, in the Place Beaubourg, there lies a small building in which a fascinating permanent exhibition is held. This exhibition is of the works of Romanian-born sculptor, painter and photographer Constantin Brâncuși (February 19, 1876 – March 16, 1957).
Courtney Allison‘s California home may not be an actual French country cottage, but it certainly looks the part. The blogger describes her style as “a little bit shabby and french country with a touch of cottage mixed in”.
THERE HAS BEEN much soul-searching these past few weeks, and a taking stock of sorts, as is the kind of thing that always seems to happen at this time of year. There is a quote by Marcus Aurelius that have been falling back on quite a bit lately as we embrace this new year and all of the promise it brings: “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.”
This week’s links include a mansion in the Marais and white dresses for spring, an interesting recipe for Activated Charcoal Pancakes With Lemon Coulis and much, much more.
WE HAVE HAD A LONGTIME love affair with Atelier AM, the Los Angeles-based interior design/architecture firm run by husband & wife team Alexandra and Michael Misczynski.
“Soul Syncable,” Sevdaliza’s latest slice of ambitious dark pop, emerged on the day of the super blue blood moon—should you believe in trippy lunar happenings—and was accompanied by a special message. “These are glimpses of her supernatural realm,” wrote the Iranian-Dutch musician. The “her” was unclear—perhaps a reference to herself, or to the moon.
In celebration of Valentine's Day, a compilation on thoughts about love -- the idea of soulmates and beautiful quotations, a moving talk on vulnerability and loving wholeheartedly, diamond rings and romantic underthings and more ...
The other day while searching for a place to have tea, we stumbled upon a beautiful hotel situated a few steps away from the beautiful Opera de Paris, the Palais Garnier: l’InterContinental Paris le Grand.
Also called l’hôtel des voyageurs, l’InterContinental Paris le Grand was originally built for the Exposition Universelle of 1867. The building has long welcomed intellectuals and travelers from around the world, which famously include Victor Hugo, Emile Zola and Oscar Wilde.
This week’s instalment of In the Kitchen features mostly comfort food, as it’s so chilly! From old standbys such as tomato soup and grilled cheese and (healthhyish) burgers to fancy (and decadent) gingerbread brioche doughnuts with spiced brown sugar diplomat cream, here are five recipes to keep you warm this week …
