LAST WEEK, WE FEATURED the London home of Dublin-born fashion designer Simone Rocha, and this week, we take a look at her recent Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection shown on the 19th of September, also in London.


“While Rocha’s Irish roots undoubtedly draw her to the significance of religion, for SS17, the designer was also inspired by the artwork of Jackie Nickerson and her photographic series of African farmers, Paul Henry’s painting of Potato Diggers, as well as 18th century Dutch masterpieces.” —Wonderland

It’s true that there were many farm references, including shiny wellys and rubber gloves, there were also sheer ruffly dresses with matching sheer opera gloves, broderie anglaise dresses draped over one shoulder and belted prettily at the waist, trench coats with puffed sleeves and sheer little white dresses embroidered with gardens of green flowers . . .
