The Rival Sons have been on the edge of stardom for the past few years, with their brand of pure unadulterated rock ‘n roll. Maybe 2014 will be their breakout year. Here is “Open My Eyes” from their upcoming album Great Western Valkyrie due for release in June.

 


Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, Matthew Houck, who performs under the nom de plume Phosphorescent crafts lush atmospheric folk rock. “Song for Zula” has been featured recently on the soundtrack for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”.

 


American singer songwriter Brendan Benson has five solo albums to his name, but he might be best known for collaborating with Jack White as part of The Raconteurs. Here is the melodic “Pretty Baby” from 2012’s What Kind Of World.

 


Rodrigo y Gabriela have gone from busking on the streets of Dublin to selling over a million albums and playing sold out shows. The duo, who combine flamenco and rock, originally hailed from Mexico but moved to Ireland when their music careers stalled. Here is the “Soundmaker” from their most recent release 9 Dead Alive.
