AN OLD FOUR-STORY MANSION that was only opened as hotel in April 2010, the House Hotel in Galatasaray was originally built in the 1890’s. The hotel group [there are two other locations, also in Istanbul] was designed by interior design firm, Autoban. The Galatasaray location, with only 20 suites, is more like a boutique hotel, quaint and cosy with a perfect mix of old and new—original mouldings restored in each room intermingle with the clean lines of modern conveniences, chandeliers intricate wood floors, elegant tile patterns and exposed beams . . .
