IT IS ONLY the second week in January, and yet it feels like a lot more time has passed since the holidays. The decorations are still up and we're still turning on the white Christmas lights in the evenings, glittery in their delicate glass globes and strung along the archway of the built-in bookcase in the corner, instantly making things feel festive. For the past two weeks, it's been busy, busy, which is the reason why it feels like so much time has passed.
RECENTLY ON INSTAGRAM, we posted an English countryside cottage (above) that captured the imaginations of thousands. Many of you asked if it was the cottage from the 2006 Nancy Meyers film, The Holiday. It is not (although there are similarities), as Rosehill Cottage from The Holiday sadly doesn't exist, its exterior built from scratch in an empty field on a hillside overlooking the town of Shere.
We've had the fortune of visiting the Scottish Highlands many times, and but it has been a while now, since we were living in Spain for the past three and a half years. Happening across Danja's Instagram page (@merlins_mind) made the absolute majesty of this incredible place come rushing back. An outdoor, photography, bicycle and kayak enthusiast (among other things), Danja's photo stream reads like the pages of a fairytale.
