STYLIST AND CREATIVE Director Pernille Teisbaek's Copenhagen home blends together all of the beautiful elements that we love most: marble upon marble and chevron wood floors; boiserie and architectural features such as pillars and ceiling beams. There's a soft sunlit glow about the space due to filmy sheer curtains that puddle on the floor ...
I HAVE BEEN coming across so many wonderful interiors on Instagram lately: first there was the French country house yesterday morning, and now today, this wonderfully chic Brooklyn apartment belonging to Mallory and David (and their three cats) @reserve_home.
THERE AREN'T many Paris apartments that we don't like, but when we come across ones that are Joseph Dirand-esque, like this incredibly chic bachelor pad in the Place du Trocadéro, it's a very special thing.
35-year-old fashion designer Christian Vincent Siriano is perhaps best known for winning the fourth season of American design competition show Project Runway, becoming the series' youngest winner. Siriano studied in London under the direction of fashion luminaries Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen and launched his eponymous collection in 2008, showing each season following at New York Fashion Week.
In the midst of a new curfew time and talk of a new lockdown here in France, inspiration is more and more lointaine. Besides books and movies there is not much else to take the mind off the melancholy that comes with the season and this endless wintery month.
JANUARY IS A funny time: on the one hand, we're drawn to all-white and minimalistic interiors for the clean slate that they represent, and on the other, it's such a dreary month that anything colourful instantly lifts our mood and brightens these long dark winter days.
WE'RE STILL in the process of repopulating our archives after the technical disaster that was 2020 saw the obliteration of thousands of images from our hosting site; many personal images were also lost from our external drives due to another (un-related) catastrophe, but that is another story. And in the process of fixing a 2017 article by Daniela featuring the work of Lázaro Rosa-Violán—the interior designer responsible for many of the chicest hotels and restaurants around the world ...
Some Guillaume Alan's earliest design memories include the Louvre's magnificent ordered square courtyard, the Cour Carrée, and the tranquil simplicity of Mies Van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion in Spain. These memories fostered a love of classical purity that can still be seen in all of his work today.
THE FIRST THING that caught my eye in this charming Swedish kitchen was the glass-front cabinets, which reminded me of those old barrister bookcases sometimes repurposed in décor for storing/displaying shoes. The kitchen belongs to two Berliners, Laura Muthesius, a food stylist, and Nora Eisermann, a photographer, who always dreamed of owning a home in Sweden.
THE NEWS HAS been dire lately and as always during stressful times, it can sometimes be difficult to be creative and come up with interesting things to share. This space, a pavilion that's set off from the main house on this South Australian property, is modern and minimalist and very calming with its Tuscan-inspired fluid shapes and neutral palette ...
WE'VE COVERED the work of Leanne Ford before here at TIG, but this project, with its fieldstone fireplace and log cabin vibe, has drawn our attention to the American interior designer once again. Set in Rustic Canyon, a residential neighbourhood and canyon in eastern Pacific Palisades on the west side of Los Angeles, California ...
This beautiful interior space, called Aurora Residence, is a collaboration between Koolasuchus (@koola.suchus), an Australia based interior architecture and design firm, and Photonic (@studio.photonic) an Australian based studio specialising in marketing 3D imagery, architectural concept and spatial design.
WE'VE FEATURED Aerin Lauder's classic, old-world, European-infused style here at TIG before, so when House & Garden recently published a few photos of the East Hampton home that she inherited from her grandmother Estée Lauder, we had to share them with you ...
The Notting Hill home of creative consultant and designer Matilda Goad, at first glance, falls neatly into the English countryside aesthetic we’ve all fallen for lately. Upon closer examination, however, the space definitely has its own modern spin ...
Carlos Garcia Interiors was started twelve years ago by Carlos Sánchez-García to exhibit his passion for architecture, furniture design, textiles and antiques. His quintessentially English manor farmhouse in North Norfolk that he shares with his husband and two whippets is another one of our recent Instagram finds and another example of our enduring love for countryside and farmhouse style ...
