Nourishment can be as simple as an orange in the morning, or a hearty salad topped with hummus for lunch. It can be a Sunday brunch and yes, a fabulous desert. To this day, one of the best pieces of advice I have received was to always have a chocolate bar in the pantry.
The holiday season is a time to indulge in spirits and sweets, but also to restore one’s joy. What I refuse to take part in this year are cleanses, detoxes, and impossible resolutions surrounding food once the first of January arrives. Why make the holiday season even more stressful with that kind of pressure?
To me, one of the ultimate luxuries is making a beautiful meal at home with beautiful, collected kitchenware and cheerful blooms. During the rush of the holidays when the winter days are literally shorter, a good meal makes a difference in mood.
Here are a few recipes that I plan to make a part of my holiday season. Many I have made many times and a few, such as the raspberry oatmeal, I can’t wait to try!
