35-year-old fashion designer Christian Vincent Siriano is perhaps best known for winning the fourth season of American design competition show Project Runway, becoming the series’ youngest winner. Siriano studied in London under the direction of fashion luminaries Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen and launched his eponymous collection in 2008, showing each season following at New York Fashion Week. The Christian Siriano flagship store opened in 2012 in New York City, featuring pieces from the designer’s luxury collection as well as homewares. This year sees the fashion designer diving into interiors with the launch of his new firm, Siriano Interiors.
In an interview with domino magazine, Siriano described the difference between fashion and interior design as, “Well, both have plenty of similarities. It’s deeply personal, being in someone’s space, and you’re creating something for them the way you do with a custom dress. People are attached, and they want to talk about memories, which feels natural. The biggest difference is you’re also thinking of function. In fashion, that’s not the case every time; it can just be beautiful. In design, finding function with beauty is the challenge.”
There are apartments and even a hotel lined up for the designer. These images showcase a midtown townhouse that Siriano’s new firm just completed. Scroll through for a glimpse…
