Little did I know about the versatility of a long puffer jacket but I can declare this is a true winter staple. I always thought it a cosy piece, but had a hard time styling it in a street-style context.
In a few steps back in its history, it was Eddie Bauer who is credited with “creating” the puffer in the 1930s, as a result of an outdoorsy dilemma featuring a waterlogged wool coat, dropping temperatures, and impeding hypothermia. (Vogue)
As soon as I had a long puffer jacket, I came to the conclusion that it actually is the ideal piece for colder days, and, despite my earlier misgivings, there is a multitude of ways to wear it.
