The Château du Jonchet is a beautiful French Renaissance château located on the banks of the Aigre River in the Eure-et-Loir department, Centre-Val de Loire region. Originally built in the 16th century, it was transformed in the 18th century by the King’s architect, Gabriel de Lestrade.
The château has a rich history, having been restored by architect Fernand Pouillon after World War II and later owned by notable figures such as Roger Bellon and the famous couturier Hubert de Givenchy. Givenchy’s ownership brought significant enhancements, including labyrinthine boxwood hedges, a rose garden, and a private chapel.
It’s also classified as a historical monument since 1984.
