IT WAS A chilly, rainy, blustery weekend and we’ve become very disenchanted with winter now. It’s true that the longer days make everything a little better, but it still feels like spring is a long way off, despite all the pink magnolia buds on the trees and beautiful falling cherry blossoms. On Sunday P tried his hand at making ramen broth from scratch and it was delicious. We’re still very much eating wintry meals, which means lots of comfort foods and including soups and baguettes and cheesecake. I made a kale and canellini bean soup late last week and it turned out wonderfully. We were planning to go to Dalston on Saturday, but discovered in the morning that all the trains were cancelled all weekend due to scheduled works, so we’re going tomorrow instead. Last week I posted not one, but two Substack posts for our Paid Subscribers, the first of which was décor musings (what I think I like versus what I actually like), and the second was the seventh instalment of Listening, Reading, Thinking, Shopping (stripes for spring, sweater scarves for February days, beautiful gym spaces, a place to eat and stay in Charlbury, a skincare review, and more). This week, I’ll be continuing the discussion on beauty and ageing. You can sign up here if you like. In other news, new products are on the way for The Shop and we can’t wait to introduce them to you. That’s all for now.
This week’s links include the best restaurants in Shoreditch and Hackney right now, and 7 compelling aternatives to Europe’s biggest cities; ballet flats and Mary Janes for spring, and much, much more.
