YOU CAN ALWAYS tell when the tennis is on, because all the supermarkets run out of cream for everyone’s strawberries and cream. You can also tell because tennis fashion comes around again, with everyone rushing to order tennis dresses and skirts (skorts?). This year, Wimbledon, which traditionally begins in late June, was pushed back a week in order to allow players to adjust from clay to grass, and also to leave more time between the tournament and other major sporting events taking place around this time. This year, Wimbledon runs from June 26–July 16 and we’ll be watching, of course, as we do every year. We also came across this old fashion editorial from 1988, featuring Carla Bruni (and Chris Martin), shot by Pamela Hanson for Elle France.
