LAST WEEK was the first time in a very long time that I missed the Weekend Links. And if you’re a TIG subscriber, you’ll know that it was the first time in years that we took an unplanned week off. But it was all with good reason: we made a major life change that began slowly at first, but then happened all once, making for a crazily intense week that was not without misadventures. Promise to tell you all about it when we have a moment, but for now, things are still a bit chaotic and there’s still so much to do. This past Sunday was the most beautiful day ever. There were loungers along the riverside, drinks and picnics, and bright pink noses and shoulders from the first time this year out in the hot May sun. P picked up takeaway sandwiches from an outdoor market stall that we’d been to the day before (it’s becoming a habit, this place, I think) for our own picnic. We watched the sailboats and cycled past the swans and it felt rather magical breezing past rows of perfect white stucco houses with enormous wisterias in their front gardens and it was the first time since last week that I felt so relaxed and a bit delirious with happiness, if I’m being honest. Today is the first week back at work, but we won’t be up to our full schedule until next week, I think. It’s nice to be back though, and I hope you had a beautiful weekend.
This week’s links include the 50 most beautiful towns in the world, and Gloria Vanderbilt’s Former Upper East Side Brownstone; denim dresses and boyfriend sweaters, and much, much more.
