IT IS ONLY the second week in January, and yet it feels like a lot more time has passed since the holidays. The decorations are still up and we’re still turning on the white Christmas lights in the evenings, glittery in their delicate glass globes and strung along the archway of the built-in bookcase in the corner, instantly making things feel festive. For the past two weeks, it’s been busy, busy, which is the reason why it feels like so much time has passed. We’ve done so much in such a short time⏤the opposite of the vibes in these photos from December. Here, you’ll see the soft darkness of cold December days, the vibrant pinks of winter sunsets along the river; the wreaths on the doors of strangers and neighbours; frost-laden leaves and cocktails and pinecones in Christmas bouquets. On Christmas Eve day we went into the city for some last-minute shopping, stopping by Fenwick’s Food Hall for a cocktail and a box of Charbonnel et Walker chocolate truffles, which we get every year. We also stopped in at a new dim sum place and meant to only order a few items to snack on, but ended up with a table full of food and a bowl of hot and sour soap meant for a crowd. (We ate too much!) Mixed in amongst these moments of this winter photo diary are other beautiful memories that we want don’t want to forget…

Pink Himalayan salted caramel truffles, lightly dusted pink truffles with a milk chocolate, caramel and pink Himalayan salt centre, to be exact; we normally get the Pink Marc De Champagne Truffles, but this year, we thought we’d try something different.
