THERE ARE TIMES when you want a small quiet place for dinner that only you know, but then there are other times when you want a busy, trendy place, perhaps for a late lunch or an early dinner, to see and be seen. CoCo restaurant falls into the second category. Located in the heart of the Opéra Garnier in Paris, it is one of the many restaurants owned by Groupe Paris Society, which include Monsieur Bleu; Apicius; Le Piaf; Perruche; 52 Champs Elysées; and of course, Loulou and Girafe, both of which were featured here at TIG before.
Dramatically situated beneath the vaults of the Opera Garnier, it is filled with cosy alcoves, vintage lamps and giant palm trees. It also has a beautiful outdoor terrace. With a menu based on carefully selected seasonal ingredients, CoCo is founded on the terroir citadin concept, and described as being simple without being simplistic, inspired without being pretentious.
