IT WAS ONE OF THOSE sipping cava in the sun kind of weekends, hazy and warm and filled with the quiet languidness and melancholy that comes with the knowledge that these days must be savoured before they fade away. I love summertime so much that I am already sad about the thought of it ending before it even begins. Everywhere in the village there are roses in bloom, along stone cottage walls and winding up trellises and arbours. Outdoor terraces are filled with tourists in their shorts and sun hats having late-June pints under pink sun umbrellas. Everything feels a little slower at this time of year⏤the days are so long, it feels like there is so much extra time in each day and it’s wonderful. We’re both in the middle of fascinating books and have been having the most interesting conversations about them, and about life in general.
This week’s links include a light and airy basement flat in London and a broderie anglaise dress for summer days; a holiday home overlooking the Cotswolds, and much, much more.
