IN AUGUST OF 2020, we featured the bohemian eclectic Notting Hill home of Matilda Goad and just discovered that her and her husband have sold the place. The new home, a Victorian terrace also in London, is equally bohemian eclectic, or perhaps even more so. While in the US there seems to be a trend toward neutral interiors heavy on wood elements, here in the UK, things have gone in the opposite direction, toward bright colours in jewel tone shades and a good dose of whimsy. Neo-country, it might be called⏤a new take on countryside style. The ruffles and chintz are still there, but add in scallops and rattan and bobbin pieces for a modern twist. Goad’s embraces deep reds and and blues and golden rod yellow and isn’t afraid to mix them with soft pink walls. There is second hand furniture found at antiques fairs and eBay in the living room and red and white checkerboard tiles in the kitchen. It’s busy and colourful and a mix of everything, but also very cosy and welcoming. Scroll through for a glimpse…
