WE CAME ACROSS the beautiful kitchen of designer Jasper Conran’s vacation home on the island of Rhodes on Instagram and instantly fell for its rustic charm. Nothing looks too perfect, and yet everything looks perfect. There are stacks of old pots and pans on lower shelves and large terracotta platters displayed casually above, a pebble mosaic floor (something we had never seen before), irregular white plaster walls and a thatched ceiling. We, of course, were intrigued to see the rest of the home, which once belonged to Baronessa Beatrice Monti della Corte von Rezzori. The property consists of two buildings that were joined together in the 1960s: a larger, 16th-century lodging that is used as the main house, and another from the 18th century that functions as the guest house surrounded by of pots honeysuckle, white roses and jasmine. Inside, there is an iron bed draped with mosquito netting and flanked by antique table lamps with wicker shades. The charming kitchen features counters made of local stone and an idyllic office set up with an antique stone table paired with a barber’s chair overlooks Lindos harbor. There is also a beautiful outdoor terrace with tufted daybeds and vintage wicker chairs. Everywhere, there are olive trees and trailing jasmine.
