WE HAVE BEEN glued to the news detailing the events unfolding in Afghanistan with shock and horror, feeling so sad for the Afghan people desperately clinging to airplanes trying to escape a country that has descended into chaos once again. Sometimes this job is difficult because we know you come here to see the beauty in the world, to feel inspired and hopeful, but during times like these, it’s not always easy to be positive. This weekend we stayed up late talking about the world, the news, relationships, life, and the idea that free will might be an illusion. Things can get rather philosophical late into the night over a glass of wine or two, but it’s nice that we always have so much to talk about after all this time.
This week’s links include a hidden wine cellar in an old limestone cave and pretty tops for midsummer days; a Victorian brownstone, nautical inspiration, and much, much more.
