I HAVE BEEN coming across so many wonderful interiors on Instagram lately: first there was the French country house yesterday morning, and now today, this wonderfully chic Brooklyn apartment belonging to Mallory and David (and their three cats) @reserve_home. The clear focal point of this space is the cosy (trendy) pink Mario Bellini Camaleonda Sofa and beautiful gilded pier mirror, but the space already had good bones to begin with: an ornate ceiling with crown moulding and elegant window trim, wood floors and floods of light. The couple only recently moved into this space, leaving their previous Brooklyn apartment after nearly five years. Scroll through for a glimpse of their lovely new (bigger) space, as well as look at their old apartment, which is now in the hands of friends.
Before
Above, the Brooklyn apartment before the grey was painted away into something more neutral, and below, we’ve included a shot from the Cobble Hill home of Athena Calderone, published here at TIG in October 2018. Two main elements in this room, the large ornate pier mirror placed between two windows and the Mario Bellini sofa are so similar that they may well be the inspiration for Mallory and co. at Reserve Home.

The couple's previous apartment
As mentioned earlier, the couple recently moved into the home above from this space, about a fifteen minute drive from their new apartment. They lived here for nearly five years and did an incredible amount of work, especially as they were renting during this time: they not only put in an entirely new kitchen, but also added boiserie to the walls, tiled the back of the of fireplace and more. They eventually decided to move, even after all the work, because they felt they needed more space.
