I am used to feeling worthy only when I am productive, when I work a lot, and for as long I can remember, since I changed my country for the first time, all I knew was work. I love working, have never said no to job calls, and I always measured my self-worth with the amount of work I am getting done.
But for a while now things have been different; after living through the first year of a pandemic, there has been a carousel of emotions and states of mind, and the work side of things has definitely not been the same. There have been many days without work. Currently we are going through the third lockdown here in Paris, and all the clothing shops are the first to be closed. And there has been a change in the Parisian style has changed over the past year as well. I am not a fan of loungewear, but right now many of brands have collections dedicated to loungewear, sportswear, and sleepwear. I have a hard time feeling chic dressed from head to toe in athleisure, but did find a few brands that are good quality and have good cuts, make an effort to be sustainable, and have a great palette of colours.
I would style tracksuit trousers with a cashmere sweater or a tailored blazer; or pair a hoodie with jeans and sneakers; or sport pants with a poplin shirt and denim jacket; you could also go with leggings and a tank top finished off with a trench; or tailored trousers with a hoodie or sweatshirt. There are choices to play around with to make pieces from sporty collections still feel chic and elegant.
