SUNDAY was one of those bright winter days that highlights all the lacy frost patterns on the leaves of hedges and those that trail up tree trunks and along the sides of stone walls. It shone on the frosty blades of grass and the broken panes of ice beside puddles on the gravel road that leads away from the river. It was golden and it was cold, but it was so good to be outside with the sun on our faces again after so much rain. Although am still in various sweats, I did put on makeup this weekend for the first time in days, even if it were only to go for a walk in the countryside. At work, am plodding along with this year’s New Year’s Resolutions, which I seem to be procrastinating with, for no reason really, other than writing has been difficult lately. But all in all, it’s not been too bad of a start to the year, for we’ve nearly made it through Dry January, the rain has stopped, and the days are definitely beginning to get longer every day, and at nights the clouds at sunset are the most breathtaking shade of pink…
This week’s links include a dream Paris apartment and pretty pastels for winter days; quilted coats and merino knits and much, much more.
