THE FIRST THING that caught my eye in this charming Swedish kitchen was the glass-front cabinets, which reminded me of those old barrister bookcases sometimes repurposed in décor for storing/displaying shoes. The kitchen belongs to two Berliners, Laura Muthesius, a food stylist, and Nora Eisermann, a photographer, of the blog Our Food Stories. Both always dreamed of owning a home in Sweden, settling on the Skåne area, where there are forests as well as long sandy beaches and this kitchen actually overlooks the ocean. Muthesius and Eisermann discovered the Haberdasher Kitchen from DeVOL Kitchens (a company they found on Instagram), which is based on mid-century English interiors and chose oak-based cupboards. Because DeVOL are based in England, all their kitchens are handmade in their workshop there, so Laura and Nora planned the entire design with the company via email.
