It’s funny how it happens every year at exactly the same time: the moment the autumnal equinox occurs, instantly the temperatures drop and the rain takes over the city. There’s a slow pace in Paris now, the parks are empty and peaceful, the golden light is fleeting. The days may be shorter now, but perfect to come home earlier to cosy up under blankets and burn some candles, listen to Movement from Suite No.1 by Edouard Cheritel, while scrolling through @adrienchenel ’s poetic Instagram account, an antique dealer and photographer based in Paris, or reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara (have not finished it yet, but very fond of it).
And when it comes to style, I can’t generalise, but there’s definitely a lean toward leisure in style these days. Parisians are still dressing up, and as always, favouring classic pieces, but with a more athleisure vibe.
