Started a new year today reflecting on the year we leave behind and happy to realise some of the resolutions were happily accomplished, while other will still be on the list this year as well.
Used to be the person who hated resolutions, but have been convinced after all that having purpose helps to keep us motivated and creative.
Here are a few resolutions that won’t put a pressure on you or make you feel bad if you don’t accomplish them, but rather, will keep you motivated to improve your fashion buying habits:
Spend less money on clothes
Buy long-lasting pieces
Shop more sustainably
Purchase pieces that fit you well
Buy smarter, less, and better
Buy more suits
Edit your closet more often
Check the labels on everything you pick up: stop buying clothes made from synthetic materials but instead, choose wool, cotton, linen, alpaca and cashmere, which are not only more luxurious, but have a longer life
Wear what you own and don’t buy anything new
And here is a little quote that I came across a few days ago from the movie New Year’s Eve (2011) that stayed with me:
“Sometimes it feels like there are so many things we can’t control: earthquakes, floods, reality shows. But it’s important to remember the things we can―like forgiveness, second chances, fresh starts. Because the one thing that turns the world from a lonely place to a beautiful place―is love. Love in any of its forms. Love gives up hope, hope for the New Year.”
Hope you love and you’re loved this year more than ever,
Dana
